From the beginning......
For the first time I begun interest about breed Greater Swiss Mountain Dog (GSMD) early in year 1999. In this time was in Czech republic only small breeders base that is why I decide for acquisition our first female, directly from country of origin - from Switzerland. After long and poorly cupellation we're thanks our friend Dr.Nesvadba, who was judge this breed for a lot of years. He contact us with breeders in little Swiss village - Wittiwil. In January 29, 2000 we're with enthusiasm tramming our first Swissy ADONA vor Kohlereschlucht.
Her character me so inspire with, that I decide breeding these beautiful Swissies. I immediately fall in love into this breed. In 2001 I bought from Switzerland our second female AMANDA vor Kohlereschlucht and from Austria third female XARAH von den Gansewiesen. Later I kept females CARMEN, CAROLINE and FAITH borned in our kennel " from SWISS STAR ". For resurgence breeder base in Czech I import in 2003 my first stud dog BRISKO vom Schwoaten Pad from Germany and two years later I import our second stud dog BERNE von Wumelsdorf from U.S.A.
All our dogs are living together with us and they are part of our family. We DO NOT keep our dogs in the cote !!! Our dogs have disposable whole garden and house where are living as well. All our spare time we pay families, to which belongs to also all our dogs.

Mine major goals is put out high-quality puppies, which will live long and healthy life. No less important for me is, the new owners to be satisfied as well. Of course, I can't guarantee that all ours puppies will 100% healthy, because dog isn't machine, that in any time you can replace bad part and install new one. My endeavour from the beginning is improve GSMD breed by selection high - quality stud dogs. I can use for breeding always the same stud dogs from my country, but I do not it. I searching always new line and often import new males, in order in Czech republic grow the base and bloodlines. All the time I interest about disorder most often affected this race /gastric torsion, osteochondrosis, lick fit, hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, epilepsy, entropion, distichiasis, splenic torsion, female urinary incontinence after neutering, kidney disease/ and consult problems with breeders all over the world. Although many diseases seem scary, GSMD is still one of the healthy breeds.
Socialization
The puppies in our kennel are fully socialized. From day of born they live with us at least 4 weeks inside the house, where they are trained on all household strains /TV, radio, hoover..../ Then the puppies are placed to their dog house, where have again our all-day care and possibility no limit move all over the garden absolutely free. To the puppy garden, which has more than 40m2 are placed only on minimally short time, necessary in our absence only for reasons their safeness. We do not separate adult dogs from puppies,. To the 9 weeks age, when they are ready for transport to their new families, all the time they get a new skills with strangers, with kids, with pets /cat, rabbit … / and various strains. We are able to give you a information about character of Swiss Star puppies and advice to you, if the puppy, you choose is fit for you and consistanty with yours ideas. GSMD is not a dog for everyone.
